Today's IT Challenges - Why now for SD-WAN?
What is Fortigate SD-WAN?
As businesses adopt the use of Saas/Iaas applications in multiple clouds, user application experience is suffering because WAN networks designed for a different era are not ready for the explosion of WAN traffic that cloud adoption brings.
Fortigate SD-WAN replaces separate WAN routers, optimisation and security devices with a single solution that is application-aware, offers automatic WAN path control and multi-broadband support to improve application performance and reduce operating expenses and complexity. Fortinet provides native SD-WAN along with integrated advanced threat protection.
According to ITProPortal, 2019 is the year of SD-WAN. That’s why we are running a webinar with Fortinet to our customers on Wednesday, 8th May, 2019 to help our customers understand the true capabilities of SD-WAN. If you would like to register your interest in the webinar, please send an email to marketing@nouveau.co.uk.
In the meantime, you can learn more about SD-WAN here. Here you can find one of our SD-WAN case studies and download the official Fortinet guide.
End of Engineering Support Date
Fortinet continually improves the operating system (known as FortiOS), to provide greater functionality and protection and releases new firmware versions for our clients to benefit from.
This means that older versions are withdrawn and recently we were notified that FortiOS 5.2 and below have been retired. We are aware that a number of our Fortinet clients are running this firmware version and we would recommend that you upgrade to a newer version to achieve:
- Greater visibility
- improved automation and functionality
- Granular protection
- SD-Wan capabilities
- Application Control
- More Fortinet fabric integration
We appreciate that any upgrade requires careful consideration and planning and our team are here to help and ensure that any upgrade goes as smoothly as possible.
To learn more about the benefits of upgrading to a later firmware release speak to your Account Manager.
Advance Notification of End of Life 8x5 Bundle SKUs
Considering the critical increase of the threat landscape, our customers should benefit from our best support services, including round-the-clock access to support services, and advanced replacement service for hardware failures. As a result, the 8×5 Bundle SKU’s will be removed for all product families. Standalone FortiCare 8×5 SKU’s will still be available. We have been advised that this will take effect in the next couple of months.
Speak to your Account Manager to understand the wider value of 24 x 7 and how you can start benefiting straight away.
