Snow Contingency Planning
Businesses across the country have had a very difficult few days operating on skeletal staff as staff have been unable to get to work. If the news is to be believed (although the news reports have been very accurate thus far) the deep freeze is set to continue for another week or so.
It is business as usual here at Nouveau Solutions. Most employees have been able to get into work on foot and sharing vehicles. For the few where it was unsafe to do so, or roads impassable home working arrangements were set in place, such as VPN (virtual private network) to minimise business disruption.
Andy Stevens says "The snow disruption has heightened the need for contingency planning and home working arrangements. Many businesses in the present economic climate can ill afford a lost day of business. Remote working solutions are a proven way of minimising the impact of staff absenteeism on your business.

The Hempel Hotel gives Nouveau Solutions 5-star rating
We recently received the following letter from one of our support customers, The Hempel Hotel - a stylish and sophisticated 5-star London luxury boutique hotel.
Working in the hospitality business makes you aware of the fact that customers often find it easier to complain then to share that they are happy or even impressed with the service they are receiving. As I know, I can often be a customer who knows what she wants; I want to ensure that I also share when I'm happy or as in this case impressed.
Nouveau Solutions has been our IT Support Company for a good few months now and so far I've been very happy with the high level of customer service I've received. Whether it's Dave coming to see us on our "1 day a month on site" or it's Nathan or Edward over the phone, your team is always helpful, gracious and very proactive and willing to think with me. I was most impressed by Steve last week. We had been on the phone several times that day in regards to viruses on my computer and I had expressed that I felt concerned with the situation. At about 5.30pm Steve and I had agreed that we would pick up on this subject again tomorrow. At 5.45pm I dialled the number of the helpdesk, while the phone rang for the 1st time, I realised the time and hung up, thinking: "I'll call tomorrow." Within 5 minutes Steve was on the phone to me checking if it was me who'd just called and if I was ok? That is AMAZING Customer service and I will use that as an example moving forward.

Fortinet's FortiMail Earns Platinum Certification for Virus Bulletin's VBSpam Awards
Fortinet - a market-leading network security provider and worldwide leader of unified threat management (UTM) solutions - today announced that its FortiMail email security appliance was awarded Virus Bulletin's highest level "Platinum" certification in the VBSpam Awards.
Virus Bulletin staff tested FortiMail among 13 other anti-spam products for detection rates and the number of false positives. Fortinet's FortiMail product was one of only two products that achieved the Platinum-level certification, which is given to products with a spam catch rate twice as high and a false positive rate twice as low as the average in the test.

Red Shed Tickets selects NEAT
NEAT Ticketing has been selected by Red Shed Tickets of Kelso to consolidate all Box Office requirements for a wide range of venues in the Scottish Borders, including regional and local theatres, festivals and village halls. The single web portal will enable Touring Companies and customers to conveniently book whatever they require, providing far greater choice and better use of the available venues.
Catherine Fish, Proprietor comments "we have a wealth of venues in the Borders, a loyal patron base but they aren't particularly well joined-up. We hope Red Shed Tickets and NEAT's multi-venue ticketing solution will go a long way in bringing everything together".

Breaking news - Goodwood selects NEAT

Wireless Godalming wins Business and Economy Award at the South East Awards
The Wireless Godalming scheme which was delivered by Nouveau Solutions Ltd has won the Business and Economy Award at the recent South East Awards.
Nouveau Solutions Ltd collaborated with Waverley Borough Council with support from the Connected Surrey Project to create a town centre network hub. Gary Hudson from Nouveau Solutions says "Godalming is thought to be the first marketing town in the UK offering free internet access to residents, businesses and visitors to the town. I'm thrilled that Godalming has received this accolade in recognition of the contribution that this Wireless Scheme has brought to the town".

Strode Theatre select Nouveau's Entertainment and Ticketing Solution (NEAT)
After a lengthy selection process during which a number of ticketing solutions were evaluated, the Strode Theatre has selected NEAT to meet the needs of its growing operations.
NEAT's ease of use, scalability, online ticketing and the ability to operate in a hosted environment were all key decision-making criteria. The hosted option was particularly important in order to avoid expensive up-front capital costs.
Implementation will take place in August in time for their Autumn Programme where thereafter patrons can benefit from the new online ticketing and seat selection services.

Nouveau Solutions helps Godalming get switched on!
Godalming town centre is set to benefit from wireless technology, as a one-year pilot scheme goes live on Tuesday, 20th May.
A secure, wireless network will cover an area from the railway station to the Council offices and will include the Pepperpot, Godalming High Street, Bridge Street, The Burys and the Council offices. It will enable residents, businesses, and visitors to connect laptops, mobile phones, and gaming devices to the Internet from around the town.
The scheme will be delivered by technology specialist Nouveau Solutions Ltd whose wireless Head of Division, Gary Hudson, says, ‘“Godalming is thought to be the first market town in the UK with a scheme such as this and it means that anybody in the area can make use of free internet access.
