Nouveau Solutions have developed an add-on to Microsoft Dynamics CRM to service all the needs of a modern Theatre or Sports Venue Box Office. The powerful Customer Relationship and Marketing facilities within CRM have been leveraged into this solution. The solution is available both for on-premise and hosted deployments of Dynamics CRM.

The system will handle bookings for multiple venues with multiple productions. The venues can have multiple areas. Each area for a given performance can be configured either as an unreserved seating space, or as a reserved seating space with the seating layout displayed in a graphical form.
The system is very flexible and the number of different layouts and configurations are limited only by the available storage.
CRM has been customised to hold all data required for a Box Office including:

  • Seat Layouts
  • Seat Prices
  • Concessions
  • Productions
  • Performances
  • Booking Records

At the heart of the system are the booking records. These have relationships defined to productions, performances, customer records, etc. Using the built in facilities within Dynamics CRM, it is very fast to get a list of all records for a customer. Or all records for a performance or even the entire run of a production. Once the records have been listed, the powerful facilities of Dynamics CRM allow easy export to an external CSV or Excel file. As well as being able to use the records for a quick campaign, email shot, etc.

In addition to the standard CRM screens, the system uses the Microsoft Silverlight technology to display seating plans in a graphical form familiar to Box office Sales personnel. Silverlight enables us to supply a rich client experience far superior to a standard web based form. The plan shows all available seats and their price. Seats that have been reserved or sold are shown too, and by hovering over them the operative can see important data such as the customer, reservation expiry times, house seats, etc. Clicking on a reserved or allocated seat will open up a window with the appropriate booking record. Clicking on available seats, allows the sales operative to select the seats for sale or reservation.
